Read MoreIf you or a loved one is dealing with drug or alcohol addiction, you’re not alone. Every year, nearly 20 million Americans face a substance use disorder. And it can be extremely difficult to overcome addiction on your own. Inspira’s addiction services team is here to help.
Inspira’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a mental health and substance use program that offers a combination of psychotherapy and psycho-educational groups in a safe, caring environment. Participants work on gaining insights into both their mental health and addiction issues to improve coping skills.
The IOP offers a higher level of care for those who need more support than a traditional outpatient program. It’s also suitable for those who are stepping down from inpatient care.
People’s experiences with substance use disorders vary, which means every person’s recovery process will look different. Typically, those enrolled in the IOP will spend sixto eight weeks participating in three-hour-long sessions two to three times per week. These sessions include group therapy, individual therapy, medication management and more.
Our providers are trained to recognize the unique challenges of addiction and can also address mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal issues, family difficulties, grief and ADHD. In addition, our therapists are well-versed in working with the LGBTQ+ community.
Whether you’re referred by your health care provider or through our access center, Inspira’s IOP team is here to help you face your substance use disorder. The IOP is covered by most insurance plans and you can participate in-person, virtually or in a hybrid environment.
Yes, group therapy is part of the Intensive Outpatient Program and is required to participate.
Yes. Currently, you can choose to participate in-person or virtually. If you’re participating in-person, we can provide transportation to and from our facility.
Every person is different, although the average patient participates for 6 to 8 weeks to complete the program. Once our providers determine you’re ready to move on, you can step down to a lower level of care with our Wellness Outpatient Program.
